CASH IN EUROPE

Technology makes managing money easy, but cash still clearly has its place.

In 2019, 109 billion cash payments worth €1,722bn were made by citizens in the euro area. 55% of people said paying with cash was more convenient, while 63% of hospitality transactions were made with cash.
