Maxima Choose Glory Retail Solutions to Automate Cash Payments at Self-Service Checkouts
Paying in cash remains popular for shoppers, even with today's multiple payment options. Self-service checkouts that accept banknotes and coins are widely used, and customer-focused retailers look for reliable and long-lasting solutions. Recognising this, the largest retailer in the Baltic States, Maxima, is updating and expanding its self-service checkouts to modernise the cash payment experience – and they have chosen Glory CASHINFINITY™ solutions, delivered through our excellent local technology partner Hansab, for this project.
According to Maxima, about a third of their customers currently use self-service checkouts to pay with cash.
Technology Minimises Human Error
Current trends and customer habits show that cash payments are still popular. Manually processing cash in store, however, is prone to human error. It is challenging for cashiers to avoid mistakes completely. Automated cash processing devices check the authenticity of banknotes during payment, eliminating the risk of accepting counterfeits. This advanced equipment ensures safe money handling, eliminates human mistakes, and saves employee time. These technologies in cash processing ensure a dependable, safe, and efficient payment process.
Faster Payments
Maxima installed Glory retail solutions known for their efficiency, reliability, and user-friendly design. These devices optimise the cash payment process, reducing waiting times and improving the overall shopping experience. The highly efficient Glory front-of-store device, the CI-10x, can serve two checkouts, optimising the number of devices needed in the store.
“The ability to pay with cash is still important for almost half of the customers in our stores. Therefore, we want to provide the best shopping experience for those who choose this payment method.” Tomas Bazys, Director of IT Maintenance Department at Maxima LT
Maxima Self-Service Checkout Upgrades and Support Services
During this long-term project, Glory’s CI-10x retail devices will be installed in nearly all stores in the Maxima retail network. Regarding their collaboration with Glory’s local partner Hansab, T. Bazys adds, "We feel that we have a partner focused on results, not just a supplier." Hansab, which provides services for the installed equipment, will ensure maintenance. With a service network located in 5 of Lithuania's largest cities, Hansab can respond quickly to emergencies and restore the equipment's smooth operation within one working day upon arrival at the location.
Upgrading self-service checkouts with modern cash payment equipment will ensure a smooth shopping experience for Maxima customers and guarantee the freedom to choose their preferred payment method. Hansab & Glory appreciate the trust Maxima has put in our technology and service and are grateful for the cooperation from the start of the project to the completed installations in the shopping centres.
