Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium switches back office cash handling to Glory Global Solutions

After a competitive review Glory Global Solutions, the global expert in cash management, has been chosen by John G. Shedd Aquarium, one of the world’s largest indoor aquariums, to provide its back office cash handling equipment.

After exploring a number of alternate cash recycling companies, Shedd Aquarium – which welcomes approximately 2 million guests annually – stated it selected Glory based on the quality of its products and its ability to provide seven days-a-week on-site maintenance and support program.

Following an audit of its needs, the aquarium purchased a combination of the CI-300 ‘Cash Infinity’ cash recycler and SDRC-100 coin recycler.  The new cash handling machines are providing complete back office automation for the aquarium’s cash office, significantly reducing the hours required for ambassadors (cashiers) and management to build their start funds and then reconcile them with the point of sale (POS) at the end of a shift.

In addition to these efficiency benefits, the Glory machines add a level of security to the cash office, reducing the number of people having to handle cash and helping to build end-of-day cash bank deposits by storing the deposit in a separate collection draw safe in the machine that only management can access.
